Style

Kerrie's work is very much influenced by colour which is shown in her bold and dramatic pieces. Kerrie's vivid designs are taken from different elements seen around her from the very soft organic shapes found in nature to the very strong clean lines found in architecture.

Career

Kerrie was born in Cambridge and grew up in Bedfordshire where she recognised her passion for jewellery at a very young age. She studied jewellery at upper school and carried on through her schooling and gained an A level in Design specialising in Jewellery. Kerrie went on to study for a National Diploma at North Herfordshire College exploring the different aspects of design from working with glass, to textiles then to her love of working with precious metal.

After a year's intensive learning course in "Design and Making" Kerrie moved on to study a BA Honours degree in Metal Work and Jewellery at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College. During her time at Buckingahmshire Chilterns Kerrie entered several design competitions, one of which was Pewter Live. This particular project allowed Kerrie to experiment with certain techniques used by the pewter company and design in a very industrial/manufactured style.

Finishing her time at university Kerrie took part in a variety of exhibitions allowing her work to be seen by many people within the industry, including being featured in Elle decoration and in China's Apple Daily newspaper. Kerrie's first exhibition was 'Pink tomatoes' held at the college and later she exhibited at New Designers at the Business Design Centre in Islington. Finally before Kerrie Joined us here at Harriet Kelsall Jewellery Design her work was seen in the New Designers Selection 2005 exhibition held at the old Truman Brewry in Brick Lane.
